The star of Cyberpunk 2077, Keanu Reeves has just revealed that he has never actually played the game despite CD Projekt’s earlier claims that he loved playing the game. Reeves revealed this news during an interview with The Verge, for The Matrix Awakens. When he was asked that if he had ever played the game before, he responded “no, I mean I’ve seen demonstrations, but I’ve never played it.”
In 2020, during a CD Projekt earning call, Adam Kiciński the President and Joint CEO of CD Projekt claimed that Reeved has played the game and he loves it. Cyberpunk 2077 stars Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, who is beside the main character for most of the story, and Reeves was a big part of the marketing campaign of the game including his appearance at E3 2019.
At the time of its release Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to be the biggest game of the year, but after it’s disastrous release, CD Projekt is still trying to fix the game. The game company has also announced that all of the Cyberpunk 2077 updates will be delayed to 2022. There are also lawsuits filed against CD Projekt by the investors, because of the misleading promises about the quality of the game.
